Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-15
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Blood and Thunder (the "Game"), including the web application, public API, bot API keys, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Blood and Thunder is a multiplayer real-time strategy game: players found cities, manage economies, raise armies, author automation scripts, and compete on a shared world. Game state advances on server-driven ticks. The Service is provided for entertainment. Features may change, reset, or be withdrawn as we develop the Game.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, you may use the Service only with verifiable permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by law. The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
3. Accounts & security
- Authentication is provided via our identity partner (Clerk). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login credentials confidential.
- Bot and script clients may authenticate with API keys you generate in the Game. An API key has the same power as your account for game actions. Treat keys as secrets; revoke them immediately if leaked.
- You must not attempt to bypass authentication, impersonate another player, or access another player's cities, armies, mail, scripts, or keys.
4. Fair play & acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, or manipulate tick/game systems outside intended APIs.
- Attack, disrupt, or overload the Service (including abuse of rate limits or simulation workers).
- Scrape or harvest personal data of other players beyond what the Game intentionally exposes.
- Harass, threaten, or spam other players (including via in-game mail).
- Upload malware, illegal content, or content you do not have rights to use.
- Engage in real-money trading (RMT) of accounts, gold, resources, or in-game advantages, or operate an unauthorized marketplace for Game assets.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules or threaten Service integrity. Automated bot use of the documented public API is allowed when it respects rate limits, these Terms, and tenant isolation (you may only act as yourself).
5. Scripts & user content
You may create battle, squad, and city scripts and other content you submit ("User Content"). You retain rights you already hold in your User Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, run, store, and display User Content as needed to operate the Game (including server-side simulation and multiplayer resolution).
No official real-money marketplace. v1 does not provide payments, payouts, or a storefront for buying/selling scripts or other UGC. Sharing scripts outside the Service is at your own risk. See our product decision record on marketplace scope.
6. Virtual items & game economy
Cities, units, resources, gold, scripts, and other in-game progress are licensed game features, not real-world property. We may rebalance, wipe, or modify game state for integrity, maintenance, or design reasons. No cash value is guaranteed.
7. Multiplayer & engine authority
The server (including the game engine tick processor) is authoritative. Client prediction and UI are convenience only. Battle outcomes, economy ticks, and ownership checks are resolved server-side. Attempting to forge ownership or inject actions for other players is a material breach of these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Game, branding, art, software, and documentation are owned by the Service operator or its licensors. Except for the limited license to use the Service and your rights in your User Content, no IP rights are transferred to you.
9. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Account export and deletion requests are handled as described there and in our operator procedures.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that defects will be corrected on any particular schedule.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR GAME PROGRESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (US $50).
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, legal compliance, or Service shutdown. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be signaled in-product when practical. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Contact
For terms questions, account issues, or abuse reports, contact the operator through the support channel published on the Game site or repository (for independent/early access builds, use the project's designated maintainer contact). Include your account email and in-game player name when relevant.
These Terms are a product-specific baseline for a multiplayer strategy game and API. They are not legal advice. Operators should have counsel review before commercial launch in specific jurisdictions.
